Children and Youth

Children (faces blurred for safety) sit around a table being taught about the Bible.

At Grace Hill, we believe parents are the primary disciple-makers of their children. We seek to support and equip families as they teach their kids to understand Scripture, take part in corporate worship, and love Jesus.

Children are image-bearers of God with a valuable place in the body of Christ. For that reason, we believe they should be with their parents during worship as much as possible. When adults model what it looks like to sing, pray, listen to God’s Word, and respond in faith, children grow into active participants in worship themselves.

Our worship service begins at 10:00 AM on Sunday mornings. All ages start worship together and there is nursery care during the sermon for children ages 0–4, if parents wish to send them. After the service, we offer Sunday School classes with Gospel-centered lessons designed to help children grow in their understanding of God’s Word.

Nursing Mother’s Corner

We have a cozy corner for mothers who need to nurse or calm their baby during worship. This space offers privacy, a comfortable couch, a Boppy pillow, and blankets. A television live streams the worship service.

Nursery (Ages 0–4)

Our nursery is designed for our littlest ones. During the worship hour, we focus on play and reading books about who God is. In the second hour, children receive more structured Bible teaching. We read from The Beginner’s Gospel Story Bible by Jared Kennedy and use interactive play to retell stories together. We also sing Scripture songs, memorize First Catechism questions, and use Tiny Theologians ABC cards to learn big truths about God.

Lower Elementary (K– 2nd Grade) and Upper Elementary (3rd–5th Grade)

Our elementary classes are divided by grade and both use The Biggest Story curriculum, which helps children understand God’s plan to redeem the world through His Son, Jesus. Weekly lessons walk students through the overarching story of the Bible—from Genesis to Revelation—so they can grasp God’s story of redemption.

Youth Group (6th–12th Grade)

Grace Hill’s Youth Group welcomes middle and high school students (ages 11–18). We seek to nurture faith, confidence, and belonging during this important stage of life, helping students grow into who God created them to be.

Sunday Mornings

After worship, students gather together, then break into middle and high school groups for Bible study, discussion, and prayer. Weekly lessons are designed to encourage personal study throughout the week, with Sundays set aside for group discussions. We often find meaningful connections between our study and the morning sermon.

Community and Connection

We love serving together. From care projects for elderly neighbors to seasonal events and game nights, our gatherings blend fun, friendship, and outreach. We strive to create a welcoming space where students feel encouraged to invite friends and build lasting relationships.

Leadership

Our youth group is led by Phil and Lindsay Day, members of Grace Hill for more than four years. Phil holds a Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and has a longstanding passion for youth ministry. He also serves on the worship team. Lindsay is passionate about fostering an encouraging environment where students feel safe to share and grow, and she enjoys serving alongside them in community outreach. Other Grace Hill members also support the ministry through teaching and mentorship.
